3 Easy Steps to Become a Good Arabic Speaker
3 Easy Steps to Become a Good Arabic
Speaker
Starting to learn Arabic can seem like an intimidating task,
but it doesn’t have to be! By taking a few simple steps, you can become a good
Arabic speaker in no time at all. As you read this article, keep in mind that
it assumes that you’re starting from scratch and have no prior knowledge of the
language at all. If you already know some of the basics, I encourage you to
skip ahead to the third point in this article, which provides resources for
those with prior knowledge and points out where the remaining articles in this
series will take you next.
1) Step 1: Learn the Alphabet
First, take
some time to learn your Arabic alphabet. There are 28 letters in Arabic and
each is pronounced a little differently than its English counterpart. While you
won’t need to memorize them all right away, be sure that you understand where
each letter falls on your keyboard so that you can easily find it when
necessary.
2) Step 2: Learn Simple Words and Phrases
Arabic can
be quite difficult for beginners, so make sure you start with simple phrases
and words. Learn how to say hello and thank you in Arabic, as well as useful
phrases like please, how much is it? and yes. To learn these essential words,
find an Arabic speaker or teacher who can teach them to you. Then practice using
them with someone else. Also try writing some of these new words several times
each day until they are second nature.
3) Step 3: Read, Listen, Practice
Learn Arabic
through reading, listening and speaking. The most popular way of learning
Arabic for beginners is Rosetta Stone. As with any language, you’ll want to
practice what you learn, which can be done in many different ways.
